So this week I was just updating some admin work and making some changes to a job which we didn't work on before, so it was a bit confusing. But we got it done. And this week coming up we'll be going campus and Grabouw and getting our M.I.P

This week i had to finish up the changes to the Internal elevations and had to update some admin for a meeting, and do more changes to another job which had to be sent to the quantity surveyor today, did changes to the ceiling layout, details and elevations due to client having a change of mind again. And some more admin:)

More details for the deadline had to be finished and learnt even more from doing them. Also had to finish up some internal elevations and made changes to window schedules, elevations, sections and joinery. Also started today with changes to internal elevations from another job, also a quite big job.

This week was busy, due to a deadline that had to be met otherwise we would have to have come in tomorrow, which really isn't a way to spend your weekend. But thankfully with working really hard we finished what needed to be finished and I guess next week the rush will continue. Did quite a bit this week namely window schedule, sections and details. And as always learnt quite a bit of new things. 

this week I was mostly drawing up sections and details from the institution project. That is drawing up new sections and updating other sections.

So this week i had to just finish up some admin and then started making changes to elevations of this institution we busy with, so a lot of changes had to be made and we had to draw up some more elevations after we received new photos, just waiting on some dimensions now.

So for past 2 weeks i have been doing a pretty boring job, namely Admin. nothing much to say about it just sorting out of email and some typing..

Back to campus

so tomorrow we back at campus, will be nice to see everyone again:) at work we've just been updating old drawing title block and we're waiting for our mentor to check our drawings and make some design changes  so we can continue on them.

Most of this week I've been working alone because it is unfortunate that Bilqees got robbed and i'm hoping she will get better soon because I know she's strong. Other then that been busy with sections and elevations for this new job.

this week I started off with finishing up on the internal elevation and then drawing up some existing elevations but our mentor has now given us working drawings to do, and its been a lot of work and been keeping us quite busy, we also started with the elevations.

So I missed going to site this week because i took off on Monday due to my sister getting engaged:) on Sunday, will hopefully get to go to site next time..this week I was a bit lost at first because of not going to site but the pictures helped a lot. I was busy with internal elevations this whole week.

this week has been a bit of a drag, because we've been busy with sections and elevation again since this building is really huge..if any thing new comes u will let you know

same old things this week just been busy with sections and elevations and on Wednesday our mentor took Bilqees and I to a site hand over meeting, it was educational in a way to know that the principal agent has the main responsibility..

we've busy with sections this week but since we haven't been to site yet its a bit difficult to draw up the sections, hopefully next we'll be going to site and if we don't go to site our mentor and fellow colleagues will take pictures which would be helpful.

New project:)

So this week we started on a new project, started with drawing up existing plans and after this we will have to go measure up for the measurements we don't have..can't wait to go back to campus next week;)

Window Schedule

So this week was the window schedule week, and will hopefully finish that up on Monday, our mentor had a meeting and told us that the building that we'll be measuring up is really huge and will take weeks. They might take on temporary staff to help measure up. Can't wait for this project to start... :)

New Work

So we've got new work and will soon be going to site to measure up:)) 

And I'm busy doing a window schedule for an institution which means loads of windows

But other then that campus work is going well...

So we still haven't got any work to do, getting a little worried..but keeping my hopes up that we will be getting new work soon.

So this week has also been chilled, we had to print out one of the projects that will be going ahead soon which took quite a while since copies had to also be made. I did some admin work as well and had to take off on Wednesday due to having the flu. Other then that my hub project seems to be getting somewhere but I keep getting new ideas..

so the long weekend that past was quite enjoyable since we dont get holidays, as we do when we at campus..we've been filing away all old projects for the past week but friday we got back to doing drawings for the project we are currently working on..

hopefully this project will go full steam ahead now without any glitches
other then that will let you know when something new comes up :)

The wait is still on

So we're still waiting on the quantity surveyor to find out the cost of the project, and while waiting we're are filing away all the projects that are finished.. hopefully this week we will find out if this project is going to get the go ahead because our mentor has a meeting on monday..other then that getting to now my fellow colleagues at work quite well.

nothing much

okay so i know i've missed blogging but nothing much has happened, since the last blog....we cleaned the office which took the whole day..and was tiring..we did some admin work - just some filing of old projects..and we still waiting on the go ahead with the project but still working on it..because in our field of work sometimes we just have to do risk work..

Week 8: The wait

we are currently waiting for the go ahead on the project that we are busy with at the moment..
other then that im still learning tons of new things, and love the fact that everyone in the office is always willing to help out, and that i also have help from bilqees when i need it...

something besides work, went to the design indaba today and was totally inspired, made me want to come home and work on my project, i also bought the book 10 years 100 buildings :))))...at a bargain and a half..so my architecture library grows on...

Week 7: Deadlines

So last week was quite hectic with deadlines since there was a meeting yesterday and today with client...
just been busy with elevations and sections...but as the clients are quite stubborn..whenever my mentor comes back from a meeting there are many changes to be made..it is kind of frustating that they keep changing there mind and that they just won't let the architects design the building...but ofcourse not all clients are easy to work with, which is one thing i learnt beside all the other things my mentor has taught us..

Week 6 - Been more than a month already!!

So this is my sixth week working..and its been one heck of a learning experience that i enjoy everyday with a friend by my side - Bilqees Adhikarie..Our office is always entertaining and there isn't a day that goes by where we don't laugh uncontrollably...Our mentor tries to involve us in everything that he can, and he teaches us something new everyday.. 

We've started off with internal elevations and now we're busy with working drawings - sections..

I'm quite sure that this year is going to be filled with eventful, joyous and learning days that will gear us up for the years to come...with that being said I'm off with hopefully another educational day ahead...
